Mary Ann Hanson, PhD, ARNP
I became an RN in 1995 and then worked in labor & delivery, pediatrics, and inpatient child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. I returned to school and earned my Family Nurse Practitioner Master of Science in Nursing and then my Nursing PhD. My research focused maternal understanding of pediatric obesity.
I worked in pediatric primary care and as a nursing professor before staying home to start my family. I live in Fleming Island with my husband and three children. When I am not at work you will find me volunteering at school, church, and with youth organizations alongside the kids. As a busy working mom, I can relate to families trying to keep kids healthy while balancing school and extracurricular activities. I enjoy educating families on preventative care especially healthy eating, activity, and immunizations.
